Battery cars to transport legislators

In an eco-friendly move, the Karnataka Legislative Council will provide battery operated cars to transport legislators from Legislators' Home to Vidhana Soudha (state secretariat),a distance of one kilometre. Two six seater vehicles will drop legislators to Vidhana Soudha, Council Chairman D H Shankaramurthy said in a release. Most legislators own either mid-size sedans or high end luxury cars. The legisalture secretariat offers its members low interest loan rate for purchase of vehicles. The Karnataka Legislative Assembly has 224 members and the upper house 100 members.
